Description
Native Squared helps you protect the planet one Square at a time. Each Native Square is a real 3m² of rainforest, mangrove, or coral reef, secured for 40 years. You can see your Squares on our interactive map and track your impact on carbon, biodiversity, and local communities—making conservation tangible, personal, and lasting.

Native Squared makes protecting nature simple, tangible, and personal. A Native Square is a real, precious, geotagged 3m² Square of nature, backed by 40 years of environmental rights. Every Square is visible on our interactive map and comes with a dashboard where you can track your impact across carbon, biodiversity, and community support.
Our first flagship project is in the Solomon Islands, where we’ve secured the exclusive right to bring 60,000 hectares of pristine rainforest to market—equivalent to over 200 million Native Squares. This is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, home to 66 endemic species, and stewarded by local communities who have protected it for generations despite huge political and economic pressure to log. By purchasing Squares, you provide them with sustainable income streams that support forest ranger programs, biodiversity monitoring, education, and healthcare—ensuring the forest remains standing for decades to come.
Former Malaita governor Daniel Suidani made international headlines in 2021 when he declared that the extractive economy of logging and mining was failing his people, calling instead for “an economy which builds up our resources instead of destroying them.” His words gave voice to what many in the region already knew: that logging and palm oil concessions were stripping communities of their natural heritage while providing only short-term financial gain.
But the pressure to exploit remains intense. The Malaita rainforest is still under active threat from logging companies and palm oil plantations, with foreign investors eager to profit at the expense of local people and ecosystems. But it doesn’t take much to change the equation. For around £5 per Square, you can outbid a logging company—removing the economic and political pressure to cut the forest, and ensuring those incentives are replaced by sustainable livelihoods for local communities that keep it standing.
The beauty of Native Squares lies in their tangibility. You can see exactly which Square you’ve protected on the map, and you’ll receive updates on its health and status across carbon, biodiversity and other metrics. A Native Square is not just a personal contribution; it’s a real, tangible, precious piece of the planet that you can watch over for 40 years, share with friends or gift to loved ones.
For individuals, this means being able to say: “I’ve protected this specific Square of rainforest for 40 years”—a claim that’s authentic, visible, and emotionally resonant. For businesses, it provides a powerful way to meet ESG objectives and connect with customers and employees, whether through campaigns like “buy this, protect a Square”, or rewarding staff with their own Squares.
Unlike traditional carbon credits, which are abstract, opaque, and often distrusted, Native Squares are transparent, multi-metric, and inspiring. Every Square you protect supports biodiversity, sequesters carbon, and sustains communities. By turning nature into an investable, visible, and emotionally powerful asset, Native Squared makes it possible for everyone to play a direct role in safeguarding the Earth’s most precious ecosystems.
