Ethiqana is a certified UK social enterprise with a simple but powerful belief: that the world's most beautiful objects are made by hand, by people who have spent a lifetime learning how. Founded by Arshad after more than two decades in technology, Ethiqana works in direct partnership with 100+ skilled artisans across India and Bangladesh - preserving heritage crafts that have survived for centuries, and making sure they have a future worth staying for.
What We Make
Montessori wooden toys coloured with natural plant-based dyes - turmeric, lime, indigo, madder roots, acacia, and more. Hand-embroidered cushions and textiles using techniques passed down through generations. Intricately hand-painted papier-mâché pieces — made from recycled waste paper and natural bonding materials, using painstaking traditional methods that can take days to complete. Upcycled accessories made from garment industry waste. Natural fibre goods and handcrafted homeware. Every piece is plastic-free, handmade, and built to last generations — not seasons. Good enough, in fact, to be stocked at the V&A Museum shop.
How We Work
Ethiqana is not a marketplace. It is a direct partnership model — built on long-term commitment to the artisan communities we work with, sustained investment in their craft and livelihoods, and the belief that fair trade is a standard, not a selling point. UK fulfilment is handled by Mail Out, a social enterprise providing meaningful employment for adults with learning disabilities.
